ASK CARYL YOUR QUESTION

CARYL WOLFF, LOS ANGELES AREA DOG TRAINER

What else would someone with a name like Wolff choose as an occupation? Caryl Wolff was destined to be a Los Angeles dog trainer, and she loves her work. Caryl got her start as a dog trainer with the Los Angeles Music Center Opera where her dog Chelsea had a part in the opera - Placido Domingo got top billing, but Chelsea was written up in the Los Angeles Times and Drama-Logue. Caryl has also worked as a dog trainer for plays, commercials, print media, and television shows. Her dogs have been on the covers of Off Lead and Good Dog! magazines.

Caryl is a member of the West Los Angeles Obedience Training Club and various chambers of commerce. She belongs to the Southern California Dog Trainers Forum, which is a group of dog trainers that meets monthly to discuss - what else? - dog training.

Even though she is a successful dog trainer, Caryl continues with her education. "I attend four to six seminars a year," she says, "and I am constantly reading and learning innovative training techniques that I can pass on to my students."

WHAT IS DOGGIE MANNERS?

WHAT DOES CARYL THINK ABOUT DOGS AND TRAINING?

Caryl wants you to communicate effectively with your dogs so that you understand why your dog acts the way he does and your dog understands what you want him to do. Here's what she says, "We bring out your dog's 'inner angel' and help him become a happy, well-behaved member of your family.

"We teach classes currently in West Los Angeles and Long Beach, and we offer private lessons throughout Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, South Bay, and Long Beach. We pride ourselves in using the latest, up-to-date humane, positive, and motivational training methods.

"Our classes cover basic obedience training commands and show you how to incorporate them into the real world. Our private sessions include the class curriculum, but we customize it to your individual needs and give you additional training on matters that are important to you. And we are reasonably priced."
